First designed in 1949 by Danish designer Hans J. Wegner, the Wishbone Chair has become one of the most celebrated icons of Scandinavian design. Officially known as the CH24, its distinctive Y-shaped backrest, handwoven paper cord seat and graceful solid wood frame combine exceptional craftsmanship with everyday comfort. Inspired by Ming Dynasty chairs, Wegner reimagined the form with clean, organic lines that have remained timeless for more than 75 years. Still handcrafted today, the Wishbone Chair is prized for its understated elegance and versatility, making it a favourite in contemporary homes, luxury hotels and design-led interiors around the world.
