Indian Lahenga Pink Crop Top Set
Size: XL
The Lehenga — sometimes spelled lengha or lahenga — is a traditional South Asian outfit consisting of a long embroidered skirt, a fitted blouse known as a choli, and a draped scarf or dupatta. Rich in craftsmanship and symbolism, the lehenga has roots in the royal courts of the India and the Mughal Empire, where ornate textiles, hand embroidery and luxurious fabrics became central to ceremonial dress. Today, it remains one of the most iconic garments worn across India, Pakistan and the wider South Asian diaspora.
Lehengas are most commonly worn for weddings, engagement parties, Eid celebrations, festive occasions, formal receptions and cultural events. Bridal lehengas are particularly elaborate, often handcrafted with intricate embellishments such as zari embroidery, sequins, beadwork, mirror detailing and fine threadwork. Colours traditionally carried symbolic meaning — red being associated with prosperity and marriage — though modern brides increasingly embrace softer neutrals, jewel tones and contemporary palettes.
The outfit is usually styled with statement jewellery, embroidered footwear and the dupatta draped over the shoulders or head for a more traditional look. While deeply rooted in heritage, the lehenga has evolved into a modern fashion statement, with contemporary designers reinterpreting it through lighter fabrics, minimalist tailoring and fusion styling. In the GCC especially, lehengas are frequently worn to large-scale weddings and celebratory gatherings, reflecting both cultural tradition and a love of occasion dressing.
