The Kurta is a long, loose-fitting tunic that originated in South Asia and has been worn for centuries across countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and parts of Afghanistan. Traditionally crafted from breathable fabrics like cotton, linen or silk, the kurta was designed for comfort in warm climates while also reflecting modesty and elegance. The word itself is believed to derive from Persian roots, referring to a collarless shirt or tunic.
