Brown Arabic Bisht Traditional Robe

The Bisht is a traditional flowing cloak worn by men across the Gulf and wider Arab world during important occasions such as weddings, religious celebrations, ceremonies and official gatherings. Typically draped over the shoulders and worn over a thobe, it is designed to leave the right hand free for greetings and gestures of hospitality. Crafted from natural fibres including wool and camel or goat hair, the Bisht is often finished with intricate hand embroidery in silk or metallic threads (zari). More than ceremonial dress, it represents heritage, respect and status, carrying deep cultural significance and symbolising identity, tradition and social unity within Arab culture.

• Cultural Significance: In Saudi and Gulf cultures, bestowing a bisht is considered a high honor and a sign of profound respect (famously highlighted when Lionel Messi wore one after winning the World Cup).
• Design & Colors: The cloak is open at the front and designed to be draped over the shoulders. While black is the most iconic, they also come in dignified shades of brown, beige, cream, grey, and white.
• Craftsmanship: The edges are intricately embroidered by hand or machine, often in patterns that signify regional heritage. The Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia—particularly the Al-Ahsa region—is globally renowned for its masterful bisht tailoring.
• How It's Worn: It is draped over the shoulders with the arms put through dedicated cut-outs, leaving the right hand free for greetings and handshakes.
