The design combines elements from the late Victorian, Edwardian, and early rotary eras.
The design brings together several distinct historical influences:
The Cradle Handset (Late 1890s–1920s): The top horizontal cradle holding a combined receiver and mouthpiece replicates early European styles (often called "cradle" or "skeletal" phones) that preceded the North American candlestick models.
The Wooden Box Base (1890s–1910s): The polished wood casing mimics the early magneto box designs common when phones required a hand crank and a wooden housing to contain the large internal batteries.
Faux Rotary Dial with Modern Screen: While real rotary dials dominated from the 1920s onward, this modern reproduction modifies the circular layout with modern push buttons and a digital LCD display screen in the center.
