The Butterfly Chair — also known as the BKF Chair — is one of the most enduring icons of 20th-century design. Created in 1938 by Argentine architects Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan, and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy while working in Le Corbusier’s Paris studio, it was inspired by a Victorian-era campaign chair and reimagined with a suspended leather sling over a sculptural steel rod frame. The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York acquired it for its permanent collection in 1943 — cementing its place in design history.
Its distinctive winged silhouette and relaxed, enveloping form have made it a favourite of artists, architects, and creatives for nearly a century. Rent ours in rich brown leather to bring that effortless bohemian sophistication to your next shoot, podcast set, or event.
